Spicy Chinese Spaghetti

Cooked spaghetti tossed with sesame oil, soy sauce, cayenne pepper, julienned red bell pepper and chopped fresh cilantro leaves. Dish is chilled before serving.

Ingredients -
1 (8 ounces) package Thin Spaghetti
2 tablespoons Sesame Oil
1 dash Soy Sauce
1/2 teaspoon Cayenne Pepper
1 Red Bell Pepper, julienne cut
1 bunch Fresh Cilantro Leaves, finely chopped
 
Preparation:

1. Bring a large pot of lightly salted water to a boil.

2. Add in the spaghetti and cook for 8 to 10 minutes or until al dente.

3. Drain and rinse under cold water.

4. Place pasta in a large bowl, and toss with the sesame oil, soy sauce, and cayenne pepper. Add the red bell pepper and cilantro and toss again until well mixed. Cover and refrigerate for one hour. Serve chilled.

 



Chinese Cooking Tip -
Bamboo Steamer

To use your bamboo steamer, pour 2 inches of water into your wok and bring to a simmer. Place the bamboo steamer into the wok, and cover the bamboo steamer with its lid. Cook foods until they are properly cooked through. Replenish water as needed.

The type and brand of soy sauce will greatly affect the flavor of your Chinese dishes. Experiment with light, dark and flavored soy sauces until you find the right blends for your taste buds.
